Part I Creating the Skeleton |

Now, with add branch still checked, we're going to add the hip joints to make the
pelvic bone a three jointed bone. This is a tricky thing... First, I want you to uncheck add
branch, secondly click on the Add Joint icon in the build skeleton panel. The
icon is the yellow octahedron in the middle of the three on the left. This deselects the
current joint that we're working with. Next, click it again and then go down and click on
the joint in the pelvis to select it. Now, you're ready to add the first hip joint. Do
like you see in figure 7, and click in the right hip. Now, we've already got the other hip
joint. It is the pelvic joint that we placed way back in the first steps of building. |

Click again on the Add Joint icon to deselect it. This leaves us in the Move
Joint mode. Move the joint that is in the middle of the pelvis over to the other hip,
and you should have something like what we have in figure 8. We've now got the successful
beginning of a good skeletal structure. It's getting to be time to add some arms and legs
to this model. |
