Spinning 3D Text         By Joe Brewer

First off, start by clicking on the spline polygon button tssplintool.GIF (691 bytes) (hold it down to bring up all the other options)then go to the very top and choose "vertical text button"...

If you want to change your text, right click on the spline button.. hold it down
then go to the vertical text and let go.

Once you have the typed text you want, click on the "object tool"
tspointobject.GIF (672 bytes)   to select it. To make the text 3D you need to "sweep"  tssweep.GIF (585 bytes). Now you need to center the axis by clicking on the button that looks like this  tscntraxis.GIF (622 bytes)

Once you have centered the axis it is time to animate it. Click on the "animation tool button"
tsanim.GIF (463 bytes)  click on the "record key"  tsrecord.GIF (5340 bytes). Then click on the "advance to next frame" button  tsadvanim.GIF (5426 bytes)   about 10 times (It all depends on how fast you want it to spin.) Right click on the "object tool"  tspointobject.GIF (672 bytes)  this will bring up the "object info box". Now, change the "Y" rotation to "90" (if you want to spin it the other way choose "-90") then click on the "advance to next frame" button  tsadvanim.GIF (5426 bytes)  another ten times. Now change the y rotation 90 MORE, in this case to 180. Repeat those steps TWO more times, each time adding 90 to the y rotation. Now hit the "Play" button, tsplay.GIF (5298 bytes)  and watch your animation! You're done - just render the scene to a file.

Here's an example I did

twisted_ns24.gif (34064 bytes)
