Recent Months

While 2008 as a whole was probably the busiest time in Caligari's history, just these last few weeks have been filled with news! For those who haven't been able to follow events, here is a summary of the highlights.

trueSpace on TurboSquid

One of the first third party developments released for trueSpace came in the form of a plug-in that allows direct access to TurboSquid from inside trueSpace.

This is a great benefit to trueSpace users, letting them both buy and sell work in the world's largest library of commercial 3D content.

Space Navigator

These enable you to fly through a scene with unprecedented ease, and it works great in other applications such as Virtual Earth too.

Yafaray

One on-going development in the community is to create a plug-in for trueSpace that will allow use of the Yafaray render engine.

Yafaray is a free standalone render engine that offers Global Illumination, Caustics and more. This one is eagerly anticipated by many!

Contest Changes

The monthly Gallery contests now allow 30Mb of space for an animation entry, and larger dimensions for an image entry. We also got some new sponsors in the form of 3Dconnexion, Truebones, Parva, and Jason Lechak, which means winners will have some cool prizes to choose from.

Plug-ins Galore

What has really turned trueSpace into a hotbed of third party development is the work of the community. There have been too many plug-ins, scripts and helper objects released to mention them all, so below you will find some links to just a few!

Be sure to search TurboSquid and the forums for more, and customize your trueSpace!

trueSpace is Tweeting

We now have a trueSpace Twitter on the go, another way of keeping up to date with news from Team Caligari. It gets written about once per day, sometimes more, so won't flood you with updates!
