Caligari Eye, October 2004

Dear reader,

It has been our pleasure to host and judge a wide variety of contests this year. We are very proud of our users and the work they create, and each month we show some of the best artwork produced in our monthly Gallery contest.

However, we understand that it may be daunting for a newcomer to trueSpace to put their work up for judging against users who have years of trueSpace experience - and that is why we held the Absolute Beginners contest, open only to those who have been using trueSpace for 6 months or less!

We also have more details about the trueTown contest - be sure to read and to register if you plan on coming! We are looking forward to this event that will bring together Caligari and our community for what promises to be a great evening!

We are pleased to reveal more stories from our users, showing the work they do and letting them tell us about it directly. Please keep sending in your stories, as hearing about what trueSpace has enabled our users to do is by far the favorite part of our work here at Caligari! You never know, your story may make it into the newsletter next time!

Finally, we are moving the Caligari Community Forums onto new hardware, due to a problem with the existing hardware. This will mean that the Forums will be offline for several hours during September 28th, possibly into the early hours on September 29th. Unfortunately, we lost some users' registration details, and if you find this has happened to you, please re-register (and if you are not a member of the forums, then why not take this chance to sign up!).

Please note that once on the new hardware, the forums will have a new address, and you will need to update your bookmarks. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this move, and we will do all we can to minimize the disruption caused and get the forums back up and running on their new home as quickly as possible!

This edition we venture back into the past with a working saw mill just like the ones from the 1700s, and venture into the future with visualizations of buildings before they even begin construction!

Grist to the Mill
