Materials

You don't need to spend time creating that perfect glass or wood material from scratch! Instead, there are plenty of pre-made materials out there, ready for you to use in your scenes!

Moonman's trueSpace Resources really is a wealth of information - at this particular link, you'll find materials to download. Please note that only those that are for trueSpace3 will work, but that's still quite a collection of materials for you to use! Click for a listing of trueSpace materials!

Plug-ins

You can add to the power of trueSpace3.2 and expand your horizons with plug-ins, which add new functionality and effects to those provided by the core program. You'll be glad to know that many of these are available for free!

2D plug-ins give you a range of special effects to use in your finished pictures. These only work in trueSpace3.2 and below. Click for a listing of 2D plug-ins!

3D plug-ins enhance the tools you can use for modeling and creating scenes. These are once more listed by version, so you'll easily see which ones will work in trueSpace3.2. Click for a listing of 3D plug-ins!

Problems with trueSpace3.2?

If you have problems with your copy of trueSpace3.2, then you may find the solution below! We have listed any known problems or issues that you might run into to help you get everything running smoothly once more!

Registration

Got your copy of trueSpace3.2, ran the installation, and been asked for your serial number? Head on over to http://forms.caligari.com/forms/tS32_free.html  and complete the registration form, and your serial number will be made available to you straight away.

OpenGL

A very small number of users may encounter an error on running trueSpace3.2 after it has been installed. The error will say that opengl.dll is missing. This is nothing to be alarmed about, and is quickly remedied!

If this happens to you, download the zip file by clicking here, and save it to your hard disk. Then extract the opengl.dll file from the zip, saving it directly to the trueSpace3 folder (if you installed using the default settings, this will be C:/ts3/), and you're done!

Remember, this is only necessary if you receive an error message about opengl.dll when you run trueSpace3.2 - 99% of you will not have this error, and so don't need to follow these instructions!

Problems running trueSpace3.2?

If you find trueSpace3.2 won't run on your system, one option to try is to lower the Hardware Acceleration settings for your display. This is a general tip for getting software (generally older software) to run in a stable manner under newer versions of Windows, and can help with trueSpace3.2 too. Simply try lowering the Hardware Acceleration one step at a time to see if you find a level at which trueSpace3.2 will run.

The option to do this is found on the Troubleshooting tab of the Advanced options for Display Settings - please consult your Windows documentation for more details about this.
