1. Does gameSpace Light let me create and save my work?
Yes, it does! You can create your models and save them
to the gameSpace Light Object and Scene libraries, or save
them as external Caligari format files, or even export them
to .X format for use in your game or other software.
Although you can create objects and scenes of any
complexity, there is a limit on the complexity that can be
saved - objects are limited to a maximum of 650 polygons,
and scenes are limited to a maximum of 5,000 polygons.
2.
Can I create animated models using gameSpace Light?
Yes you can. You have all the animation tools from
gameSpace1.5 at your disposal to create animations, and yes
those animations will save, and export to .X format too!
3.
Does gameSpace Light let me render my work?
Yes, gameSpace Light lets you render your work to screen.
The render will be to a maximum of 1024 x 768 in size, and
will have a small watermark in the corner. The image also
cannot be rendered directly to file (which means you will
not be able to render out animations), but only to the
screen.
4. Does gameSpace Light have
features and tools removed from gameSpace1.5?
No, it has all the native tools from gameSpace1.5! Some
tools which are licensed from third party developers will
not be in gameSpace Light (these include SpinQ, Monster
Modelling Tools, Puppeteer, and others), but every core tool
from gameSpace1.5 is included in gameSpace Light!
Do
remember that there are also the restrictions on object size
and rendering as noted above, and it does not feature the
export and import functionality that gameSpace1.5 has for
game and game engine formats, but all the modeling and
animation tools are there, complete and intact.
5.
Does gameSpace Light expire, or time out, or freeze now and
then?
No, there are no time out restrictions on using gameSpace
Light. It will not expire in a few days, or a few weeks, or
even a few months! Nor will it shut down after running for a
certain amount of time, or freeze while it displays a
purchase message. Every time you close the program, you will
get links to read about and / or purchase gameSpace1.5, but
that is it. That means there is no interference in your
workflow!
6. Can I use plug-ins with gameSpace Light?
No, it is not possible to add plug-ins into Light. This
applies to commercial plug-ins (such as the Level Exporter
from Greenbriar Studio) and free plug-ins. However, you will
find that gameSpace Light has more than enough in it to keep
you going without the need for any extra plug-ins!
