Limitless Power
If you've traveled that route, [Unreal Editor, Half-Life SDK,
or any other game-modding application] hunger for something
more, and even want to appreciate the engine behind those
modding tools, Gamespace is the next, big, logical step in
your evolution. [Compared to 3D Studio Max, Maya, gmax, and
Lightwave] gameSpace feels much cozier to my recruit fingers
and primarily 2D mind. Caligari has made a huge attempt to
clear up the workspace, and have your creation take up most
of the screen instead of a lot of toolbars and data entry
fields, In the hands of a good, patient developer, its power
is limitless. In the hands of a good, patient amateur modder,
it could discover the next great developer.

A Must Own
The real question you may have: is it worth the money? I can
say it is worth it! Rendering quality [] has to be seen to
be believed. If you plan to take the time to make a game,
pretty much everything you will be looking for is included
and the documentation is well written and has examples. More
tutorials are coming online and just in the last two weeks
a video tutorial has been posted for the character animation
I am trying to complete. After running the demos I see it
includes everything I am looking for: high quality still rendering,
sprite animation and 3D exporting. I do feel I am very close
to eclipsing everything I have done in the past.

3D Developer's Dream Come True
gameSpace is taking 3D gaming community by storm. Although
there is a learning curve it does not require as much of a
curve as the other high-end modelers on the market today.
Besides the fact that gameSpace is becoming an all-in-one
content creation package, it is truly fun to use. The Interface
can be customized, toolbars and icons are easy to work with
(this is where the program does extremely well), you have
literally hundreds of options at your command, the price is
right for the developer on most types of budget so you won't
need those high end applications costing two to three times
more . |

This is it!
Whether you work in a 3D engine or in C++ code, an all in
one 3D game development toolset is what you require and this
is it! gameSpace is the most powerful, easy to use, all-inclusive
game content authoring tool available on the market today,
and is based on Caligari's super flagship product trueSpace. |

A Feature Rich Modeler
The base modeler and renderer is very capable,
with easy methods to navigate the scene and create primitive
objects. In your reviewer's humble opinion, getting down
to the nitty-gritty with your model is where GameSpace really
shines. And, honestly, the price-point is almost unbeatable.
GameSpace is 85% cheaper than the most barebones edition
of Maya and 63% cheaper than the cheapest version of 3DS
Max.

Excellent, Stable Modelling Tools
T he interface offers a surprisingly easy ride, and a relatively
short learning curve; a couple of the tutorials in the manual
help everything fall into place easily. The icons and direct
manipulation controls prove intuitive and negate memorizing
drop-down menus and their locations. Using the first person
perspective view, you can build your characters and see them
as they will appear in the game, rotating, zooming and panning
the viewpoint to suit. |

"gameSpace is exactly what Caligari
has promised: a reasonably-priced, full-featured 3D modeling,
texturing and animation application program dedicated to the
game development community. With their promise of additional
formats for free, and their dedication to the further development
of the application, there really isn't an application more
suited to independent game development available anywhere
that can match its price-performance ratio."

"Featuring a professional sized list of
modeling, surfacing, rendering, animation, and scripting features
gameSpace is being touted as a high end game
content creation tool for budget minded developers and modders.
If you're a developer this is a potentially huge announcement,
as high quality modeling programs can be an extraordinarily
daunting expense." |

"The polygon modeling tools are especially fluid and
easy to get to grips with. We took a funky sci-fi model and
imported it into gameSpace without any trouble.
Once loaded we modified the mesh, changing the scale and adding
a new new body parts to the robot. When finished we previewed
the model with the quick render option, exported it to DirectX
.X format and loaded it into our DarkBASIC Professional program,
applying an environment map and metallic shader effect to
finish it off - one seriously sexy looking creation!"
