"Just Married" by Fabrice Favé, winner of the Caligari trueSpace3.2 Summer Picnic Contest -
read the interview with Fabrice below!

Tom : Tell us a bit about yourself.

Fabrice : I'm 35 years old, and I work as a mechanic turner in the French Navy. I've made 3D images for a lot of years using 3D software packages such as Real 3D (Amiga) , Imagine and Animation:Master. I have a web site dedicated to A:M (visit the site), but now I want to change 3D software and today that's possible with trueSpace 6.5 - it's the software which better corresponds to my work.

T : What lead you to try trueSpace3.2?

F : First, I already use a free copy of trueSpace2. I like the 3D modeling, it's very
useful to turn around inside the scène. I wanted to download the demo of trueSpace 6 and when I saw the free copy of trueSpace 3.2 in Caligari web site, I've decided to use it. Some time later, I saw the picnic contest and decided to enter.

T : What do you like best about trueSpace?

F : Everything in trueSpace is fantastic, modeling with polygons, nurbs and now subdivision surface. Lot of tools are great and easy to use. I like the material editor a lot, and the rendering is very impressive. I like to make realistic images, and with radiosity, that becomes possible. The animation in trueSpace is very powerful too, with dynamics, bones, etc...

T : What inspired you to create your winning image?

F : I like to make images of nature and landscapes. But in the contest, I had the challenge to place a particular object, the hat. I imagined the picnic of a young couple of newly-weds, with the hat for the man and a bouquet of flowers for the woman.

T : When you receive your copy of trueSpace6.5, what will you be creating with it?

F : I want to do everything with trueSpace 6.5, still image and animation. I like to use all the capabilities of a software package and with trueSpace, I could do all that I want. Realistic image, characters, design, architecture, and a lot of anything else.

T :  Do you have any favorite artists, either computer artists, or traditional artists?

F : I've looked at the Caligari galleries a lot. I'm very impressed by the works of certain artists such as Andew Moffitt, Griff Wason, Geoff Holman, and a lot of others.
